Good Week!

Good week for sure.  Got back from Bend, OR on Sunday and took it easy.  I shared with you about that last week.  On Monday I had a dear friend come and visit.  HIs name is Jim Myers.  He and his wife, Pat, are some folks that really bless me.  I met Mr. Myers about 6 years ago.  His nephew heard me speak at Gull Lake in Michigan and came up and spoke with me after I gave my testimony.  He told me that his Uncle had just received the Lord and he was a little nervous because he really wanted him to have an appreciation for the Scripture.  I told him to give his Uncle my phone number and I'd be glad to speak with him.  About a month later I got a call from Mr. Myers.  We had a great talk.  I found out that he'd be in Las Vegas the same time that I was out there speaking.  He was going to an Professional Wrestlers Reunion.  He used to wrestle as, George "The Animal" Steele.  We made plans to get together while I was out there.

He's not really that small, he was bending his knees!

To make a long story short, we met and had a fantastic talk.  He got very excited about the AiG message and has been a huge blessing to me personally.  Whenever I get to Florida I try to visit him.  I'll never forget calling him about a year ago and he said, "Carl, I'm sorry but I've got to go.  We're going on visitation!"  I was so blessed to hear how active he'd become in his faith.

I gave him some picture of my father that were taken in 1960 while he was filming the movie, "Requiem of a Heaveyweight" with Jackie Gleason, Mickey Rooney and Anthony Quinn.  You can see copies of those pictures here!  These were signed by the actors and I've given them to him to put in the Professional Wrestlers Hall of Fame in Amsterdam New York.

That same day we were able to reconnect with a family from Illinois.  He's in the Army and just got back from the Middle East.  How humbling to have dinner with him and hear how the Lord has been using him in such a difficult place. He told of baptising men in some sort of engine casing because it was the biggest tub they could find to put water in.

Tuesday we had some friends of friends visit so I showed them around a little at the Creation Museum.  The rest of the day I spent working on changing my talk from one format to the new approved format!  By the end of the day I finished 30 out of 120 slides!  It's not that easy to change these things.

Wednesday was my day off.  I went with my son to check out a potential facility for his Christian school to meet in.  Pray for them, they've lost their building and need to find a new place within the next week in order to be able to open on August 18!

That afternoon though was the cool event.  Our first grandson was born at 5:50 pm.  Trey WIlliam Kerby weighed 8.48 pounds and was 22 inches long.  I am definitely biased, but he's a good lookin' young man.

"Sweet Baby Trey"

Thursday I was back in work.  Continued to work on the talk and got up to 80 out of 120 slides!  After work I went over and visited Trey again!  He's still a good lookin' young man.

Friday, back to work.  Spoke in the Creation Museum and had really good responses.  I was so encouraged by the number of folks that came up to me and spoke with me.  One lady shared with me how her teenage girl really got excited and wanted to get material after the talk because she wanted to have answers for her faith.  To me that's what it's all about.  That afternoon I was able to finish the talk!  I've got to go through it a little bit more to tweak it, but the hard stuff is done.

Saturday, working on college.  Only one more week till I finish this class.  To be honest I can't wait.  I'm a little tired with trying to keep up with everything.  I need a short break from the school.  In the afternoon we went to Anna's birthday party.  She's a beauty.  I've already claimed her from Trey's wife.  It doesn't matter that she's a year older, that's o.k.!

This is Isabelle and Anna.  I told you a few weeks ago I'd show you a picture.  Told you they were cuties.

In the evening the family is coming over and we're just going to enjoy each others fellowship.  I always love just being able to sit and enjoy family.  I'll share pictures next week.  This Sunday I don't travel so I'll get to be in Big Bone Baptist worshipping!  That's a good thing.  I love to hear Pastor Mike preach.

Lots to do this next week.  I leave on Tuesday to speak at the AiG Family Conferenece in Tennessee.  This sounds like it's going to be amazing.  Over 2400 folks are coming.  If you're coming, please say "hi"!

Stay bold, share the love of Christ with someone today.
