Happy Easter!

Don and Nancy Leech

Happy Easter! May the Lord richly bless you and your family this special weekend as we remember what He, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, did for us! We know that God is good, all the time.

Catching up on a couple of things I told you I'd tell you about.  Recently I got to speak in Lexington Virginia. This is where I graduated high school in 1979. I have to be honest and tell you that when I left Lexington in 1979 it wasn't under the best circumstances.  Put it like this, I was bad! Nuff' said!

My mother and step-father moved away my senior year and I was able to stay there with another family. That family was Don and Nancy Leech, (see above photo). I went to church with them and they really reached out to me. They truly lived their Christian faith out and it impacted me. I didn't receive the Lord until 1987, but they had an influence on me.  They made me realize that there was a different way.

Whenever I have the opportunity to go back to Lexington and leave a different message I try to do it. Nancy sent me a nice not telling me what caused them to open their home to me that year. I'll share that some time in the future! It's amazing to see how the Lord moved to pull everything together.  I didn't know what led to them allowing me to move in with them.

The other thing I told you I'd update you on was my disc golf game against my son! It was the first game of the season and . . . . I spanked him! It was unbelievable. I probably played the best that I've ever played. I had no pain in my shoulder and everything just worked. We'll be going out again tomorrow, Lord willing!

Got home from Des Moines on Monday. The ministry there was absolutely fantastic. Met a number of young folks on Sunday at the church that remembered me from when I was there almost 5 years ago.  They actually remembered what I talked about!! (By the way, I didn't remember!)

On Wednesday I got to show the students from my son's Christian school, Grace Academy, around the Creation Museum. It was encouraging to see them get excited as they walked through the museum.

Thursday I went to Dayton to be with my friends in Casting Crowns. They have been a major blessing to the ministry. They advertise Answers in Genesis without apologies. By the way, if you work with youth they have some media you can use, free of charge, at their resources page. They use them themselves and then make them available for everyone else. Very cool! Anyway, the concert that night was amazing. Steven Curtis Chapman came to watch his sons perform at the beginning of the concert. When Casting Crowns came out they invited the elder Chapman to sing with them. It was electric! One of the reasons it was so powerful to me is Mark Hall, who is the lead singer for the band, told me how their band got started.  The long and the short of it is that they wrote their songs because of experiences they have/had with the youth in their youth groups. Mr. Chapman was instrumental in their getting into the music business. They were on tour with him early on in their career as well. Now they are doing the same thing for young bands. It's awesome! Mark introduced me to Steven and I was able to share with him about the Creation Museum. He told me that he and his family are going to visit. Very cool! Got home pretty late.

Friday I got to have dinner with some dear friends. Dean and his family are friends from when I first came fullj-time with the ministry 6 years ago. They are sweet people! Dean is the one who put in the computer system and all of the monitors throughout the Creation Museum that show the video's. It was so good to see them!

Saturday, compiled the results from the weekly survey.  Last weeks question, "Do you watch Fox News?".  The results were 58.8% said "Yes".  The favorite show identified by those was very close.  Glenn Beck won by one vote.  Interesting!

Those that don't watch Fox when asked what their favorite program 80% stated they didn't watch the news!  Interesting!

The last question was, "Are any of the programs truly "fair and balanced"?  Only one person out of all of the responses said "Yes"!  One response was, "No. All have agendas. I rarely hear "pro-life" used, but hear "anti-abortion". etc. That's not balanced"  I agree with that observation.  Just one tiny word can change the whole context!

Take this weeks survey here!  The question this week is "Have you been to the Creation Museum?"

Last thing, check out my friends blogs.  Jason Lisle's tells about a debate he recently had with Hugh Ross, Mike Riddle shares about his recent ministry in Scotland and Tommy Mitchell tells about a young man making a very important decision. These are good men, please pray for all of us. I've got some very important prayer requests up at the Prayer Warrior section as well. Your prayer support is sooo appreciated. Stay bold!
