Headed For Michigan!

I told you that I was in Tupelo last week. Well, on my way home, I got to visit some dear friends. The Monin family are the sweetest folks you’ll ever meet, and some of the most polite children I know! Allie is in the pink, then Abbie in the stripes, Chloe in yellow, and young Mr. Will—well, he's the lone boy with all those young ladies.  Great, great family!

If you live in the Southeast of this great nation you've probably heard of Cook's Pest Control.  Their advertisement includes a "Keystone Cop" named "Cookie.  While in Decatur I got to visit them and get my
picture taken with "Cookie"!  Now, that's not the 'real' Cookie!  That's just one of the uniforms folks will use when participating in advertisements for Cooks.  They have an official mascot that I was told I could get my picture taken with the next time I visit.  Oh Yeah!!

In addition, they've got a very neat Science Museum that you've got to stop in and see.  It's totally free and well worth the visit.  In addition, just around the corner is a really, really good BBQ place named Big Bob Gibson's.  Ouch!  As you can tell from the other picture my wife, Masami, and I really enjoyed ourselves.

Good stuff!  One of the co-founders of AiG that I work with, Mark Looy has been telling me for a long time how good this place was and he was right!  I definitely have to stay away from this place because it wouldn't be good for my petite figure!

Got home really late Monday night.  The road from Louisville to Hebron was horrible!  We were just praising the Lord that we could make it home.  Masami was really nervous because there were places where you just couldn't see the road for long stretches.  Nothing but snow and ice, very slick!

Tuesday during the day Masami and I went carpet shopping!  We're finishing a room in the basement and need to find something.  We went to Home Depot, looked at some carpet and it was o.k..  On the way home Masami said we should try a small place close to our home, so we did.  There we met Bob and were impressed by the questions he asked, and his approach.  We decided on a piece and put a deposit down on it.  As we were filling out the paperwork I noticed the radio station.  It was a Christian radio station  Masami asked if he was a Christian and he told us that he was.  We started to just encourage him.  He then opened up and shared with us that he had lost his daughter and his mother recently.  You can read more on how to pray for Bob at the Prayer Site, just look for Florence, KY, (2/16/10).  Anyway, it was so encouraging when 2 hours later he just called up and told me that he'd been sitting there thinking about our conversation and how encouraged he was!  Awesome!  Encourage someone today.

Tuesday night AiG hosted the second "State of the Nation".  Thousands of folks watched Ken Ham address how America is losing it's heritage and challenge Christians to start standing bold.  If you missed it you can watch it here!

Spoke in the Creation Museum twice to really encouraging audiences.  It's such a blessing to see folks who get excited about their faith.  If you've not visited, you've got to come and take a look at what the Lord is doing here.  It's amazing.

Started a new Facebook page to try and start conversations on the media.  For a long time I've wanted to make a website to put up all of the clips that I've got on examples of media bias etc.  I just don't have the time so I thought I could start it on Facebook and see if there's any interest.  The current discussion is on the movie, "The Book of Eli".  Check it out if you're interested in that type of ministry.  I'm really trying to put real world application to my book, "Remote Control".

Leave here tomorrow for Jackson MI.  I'll update you, hoping no SNOW!  Your prayers are greatly appreciated.  If you're int he area, come say "Hi!"

Got an interesting email from a rep of Sky Angel!  I'm very impressed.  They caught a comment that I made about them being on satellite and kindly corrected me!  Take a look at it below:

Good afternoon, Carl
Hello. I'm writing on behalf of Sky
Angel Faith & Family TV. I saw your recent mention about us in your
blog and want to share with you that we've changed how we provide 80+
channels of programming.  We're no longer satellite, we use internet
technology (IPTV) and a receiver box, so no outside equipment is needed.
I noticed your blog mentioned the Marco Island area -- our corporate
office is in Naples. If you're in the area again it would be great to
get together.

Have a wonderful, blessed day.

I truly am impressed that they caught this mistake on my part!  Anyway, stay bold.  I'll update you later on what takes place this weekend.  All I know is that God is good, all the time.  Stay bold.
