SNOWED OUT!

The photos above and below are from last week in Chicago.  We lived in the Chicago area for over 8 years and have some good friends there.  It's nice to go back and visit every once in a while.  They have a professional photographer who attends the church and took these photo's.  You can see his work on his website at http://photos.jasoncrichton.com/.

We started heading home on Monday afternoon and only got about halfway before we had to stop.  The snow was so bad that we counted 5 tractor trailers off of the road in about 20 miles.  They were ugly accidents.  Upside down, jack-knifed you name it, we saw it so we stopped.

Got up early in the morning because the fire alarm went off in the hotel!  That'll wake you up for sure.  Started driving and the interstate was shut down again about 15 miles from where we had stayed the night before.  Sat there for a while and enjoyed my wife and Zach (the intern's) company.  Not a whole lot else you can do.  Finally got home that afternnoon and just took it easy that night.

On Wednesday I took my college exam in my Systematic Theology course.  Pretty pleased, got an 88.5.  There were 147 questions on the test.  Way too much for my brain to remember.

Thursday was a pretty busy day, Zach, the intern, (see above) took off to go back to college.  He's a junior at Taylor University.  Please pray the Lord makes his path clear.  He's a very hard working young man and really helped out while at the ministry.  I also met with some pastors from the Toledo area and showed them around.  There's a chance I may be speaking up there in August.  Thursday night's Bible study was awesome, as usual.  I'm telling you, if you're in town and want a good study, come on over.  Pastor David does an amazing job.

Friday, Masami and I took off for Norfolk, VA.  Got here and went to the church to check the set-up.  Everything worked well.  Only problem, a little after midnight the snow started falling.  They don't get much snow here.  I was supposed to start speaking on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning, woke up to a message that the event was cancelled!  Spent the day reading and catching up on school work.  Saturday night, got a phone call from the church that I was supposed to speak at in the morning and they have also cancelled.  The pastor there still wanted to have a meeting so I spoke with the hotel about their meeting room.  They've given the room to us so we'll see who shows up!!

I'll let you know what happens with the next blog!  Stay bold and share the Lord with someone.  Thanks for your prayers.
